Moroccan-Born Samira Tayebi Elected First Female Mayor of Clichy-sous-Bois, France

Samira Tayebi has moved from first deputy mayor of Clichy-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis) during a city council meeting held on Saturday, December 3. She thus becomes the first woman elected to head the city since 1947 and the first mayor of Moroccan origin in France.
Samira Tayebi is now in charge of the municipality of Clichy-sous-Bois, after an election that took place in front of several hundred Clichois and many political personalities from the department, including the president of the departmental council Stéphane Troussel or the mayor of Saint-Ouen, now president of the supervisory board of the Société du Grand Paris Karim Bouamrane. She thus succeeds Olivier Klein, Minister of the City and Housing, in the government of Elisabeth Borne since July 4, 2022.
Proud of her career and her consecration, Samira Tayebi, mother of three children, had, on the occasion, a thought for her parents of Moroccan origin, "this generation of men and women who have crossed borders and who have been able to give elected officials of the Republic," reports Le Parisien.
