Kickboxing Champion Mohammed Jaraya Detained in Netherlands on Drug and Arms Charges

Moroccan champion Mohammed Jaraya, arrested two weeks ago on suspicion of drug trafficking, arms and money laundering, will remain in prison for at least three months.
The Moroccan was to appear before the court in Den Bosch (Netherlands) this week, but his pre-trial detention has been extended by ninety days. As a result, the fight he was to have on February 11 as part of Glory 83 in Essen has been canceled.
Sources from the criminal milieu and the police, cited by the Dutch site AD, have confirmed that Mohammed Jaraya was on a list of people to be shot. He is said to have aroused the anger of criminals due to his alleged involvement in the theft of a large quantity of cocaine.
The one nicknamed "The Destroyer" has been targeted several times last year, notably with a double attack on the butcher’s shop belonging to his father. The gym where he usually trains has also been targeted by a grenade.
After the threats, the Moroccan is said to have headed to Dubai where he is said to have bought a very nice apartment, recalls the same source. This installation in the rich emirate has raised many questions.
