Kickboxer Badr Hari Fined €50,000 for Contract Breach with Enfusion

Badr Hari has been ordered by the Ghent court in Belgium to pay 50,000 euros in damages to the kickboxing organization Enfusion. The Moroccan kickboxer was found guilty of breach of contract.
Glory had announced in December 2017 the return of Badr Hari to the ring on March 3, 2018 in Rotterdam. But the champion had in the meantime committed to Enfusion for a fight against Luis Tavares in Antwerp two months later. According to the contract, the Moroccan was not allowed to fight for another organization before the month of May of the same year. But when announcing his return to Glory, Hari had canceled his fight against Tavares.
Jacques de Wit, Hari’s lawyer and manager, had then confirmed that an agreement had been reached with Enfusion, but had claimed that the organization had not respected its part of the contract and had not paid the advance provided for. Enfusion had denied this, stating that the reason for the breach of contract was something else and had forwarded the file to the Belgian justice system.
The case was heard on May 6 by the Ghent court. Badr Hari was found guilty of breach of contract and will have to pay 50,000 euros in damages, in addition to 10,000 euros in court costs.
