Kalashnikov Ambush: 25-Year-Old Cheats Death for Fourth Time in Ongoing Underworld Vendetta

Adel and two of his friends were on the Nelson-Mandela square in Garges-lès-Gonesse (Val-d’Oise) on the night of Sunday to Monday, when a hooded man armed with a Kalashnikov emerged from a white Renault Mégane and opened fire on them, seriously injuring two men aged 42 and 54. Adel, on the other hand, got away with a scratch, reports Le Parisien. This is the fourth assassination attempt the young man has survived. Since 2022, his family and he have been the target of hitmen hired by Guy B., alias "Mareko Scarla", a 23-year-old man from Sarcelles and former member of the Yoda clan in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), considered the supplier of young hitmen to organized crime.

Adel was the victim of a first murder attempt on March 9, 2022 in the Muette district of Garges-lès-Gonesse. While he had left his brother Amine with friends around a football match, the latter was killed by four bullets from an armed man with a rifle. The suspected shooter, a 20-year-old Marseillais, former member of the "Mareko Scarla" gang, was arrested months later by the police. Investigators suspect Guy B. of having ordered this murder. On March 2, 2023, Mostapha, 57, was killed by mistake from a 9mm bullet in the throat, 200 meters from the parking lot where Amine B. had been shot. The victim was none other than the husband of the brothers B.’s mother, mistaken by the shooter for Adel who was living in the building after his brother’s death.

Two young killers aged 19 and 20 were indicted for this crime in February 2024. One of them confessed during their custody to having received orders from "LooseD", a right-hand man of "Mareko Scarla". Last year, Guy B. will be indicted for "complicity in attempted murder in an organized gang" targeting Adel B. A case dating back to late 2023, where hitmen had targeted an apartment in the Hauts-de-Seine where Adel B. had taken refuge after the murder of his father-in-law. Furthermore, investigators suspect Akim A. alias Kimo, a 25-year-old criminal from Garges-lès-Gonesse, of being behind all the attacks that have targeted the Ali B. family. A rivalry between the two families would be at the origin of this hunt. Wanted on an international arrest warrant, Kimo is said to be currently taking refuge in Morocco.
