Ivanka Trump Meets Moroccan King, Discusses Gender Equality Reforms

Arrived on November 6 in Rabat where she was welcomed by Princess Lalla Meryem, Ivanka Trump, daughter and Advisor to the President of the United States, was pleased to have been able to exchange with King Mohammed VI.
"Today, I was honored to speak with His Majesty King Mohammed VI and I thanked him for his gracious hospitality during the visit of our delegation to the beautiful country of Morocco," Ivanka Trump tweeted in the afternoon of November 7.
And she added: "His Majesty and I discussed his recent meaningful reform for gender equality in Morocco."
A few months earlier, Mohammed VI had met with Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, also a Special Advisor to the US President. Last May, in particular, the sovereign and this special envoy of Donald Trump had discussed Moroccan-American bilateral relations, on the occasion of an iftar which other personalities had also attended.
Arrived in Morocco to participate in events as part of the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity initiative (W-GDP), Ivanka Trump greatly appreciated the warm welcome reserved for her in the Gharb, in Sidi Kacem, when meeting with rural women in the morning of November 7.
This is an initiative aimed at encouraging the economic empowerment of women. It was launched in February 2019 by President Donald Trump. Ivanka, who is accompanied by the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Sean Cairncross, will participate with him in events as part of the W-GDP, before meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, in the afternoon of November 8.
Ivanka Trump’s visit to Morocco will end with her participation in a scholarship award ceremony, to be held at the Rabat Conference Palace this Friday.
