US-Israeli Delegation's Historic Flight to Morocco Avoids Algerian Airspace

Rumors claim that the first direct flight between Israel and Morocco, on board which was an American-Israeli delegation led by Jared Kushner, senior adviser to the outgoing US president, crossed Algerian airspace. A member of this delegation has formally denied this.

In a post, the "Israel Speaks in Arabic" page announced that an El Al Israeli airline plane was operating a flight to Rabat with Israeli and American officials on board to sign the normalization agreements between Morocco and Israel. The text is accompanied by an image from the Flight Radar software showing the trajectory of the aircraft from Tel Aviv to Rabat passing through Algerian airspace.

This post sparked heated controversy. Since Algeria and Israel do not have diplomatic relations. The country has also refused to normalize its relations with the Hebrew state. Shortly afterwards, a member of the American-Israeli delegation tried to put an end to the rumors. "History is being made right now with the first direct flight between Israel and Morocco. Arrival expected in Rabat in an hour, after flying over Greece, Italy and Spain. #AbrahamAccords," he wrote on his Twitter account. This information was confirmed by the specialized website FlightRadar24 which clearly showed the LY555 itinerary.
