Morocco Detonates Deadly War Remnants Near Dakhla in Ongoing Safety Push

Strong explosions were heard in the afternoon of Friday in Dakhla, causing concern among the residents. This was a routine controlled detonation operation. The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) indeed destroyed the remnants of cluster bombs and mines in the El Argoub area, located about 80 kilometers from Dakhla. The operation went smoothly. It involved the participation of specialized technical teams, as well as elements of the United Nations Mission for the Organization of a Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO). They supervised the destruction of these war remnants.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts to clear the areas adjacent to the roads of explosives and remnants of past conflicts, in order to strengthen public safety and the protection of human lives.
