Israeli Cybersecurity Firms Expand into Morocco, Eyeing African Market

Since the normalization of relations between Israel and Morocco, many companies in the cyber defense sector have set up in the country or plan to do so. The magazine Jeune Afrique looked into this enthusiasm.
Check Point Software (CPS), a pioneer in the field, announced in early August the inauguration of a unit in Casablanca, aiming to meet the growing demand in Africa where it already generates $50 million in revenue.
During the Cyber Week in June, organized by the University of Tel-Aviv, other players in the sector, such as the start-up Profero and the giant CyberArk, also expressed interest in the kingdom. The CEO of CyberArk notably highlighted the "huge potential" of Morocco. Recall that Check Point Software, with a global turnover of $2 billion, already employs five people in Morocco and three in sub-Saharan Africa, all attached to their Moroccan office.
Since July 2021, Morocco and Israel have formalized their collaboration with an agreement in cyber defense, thus strengthening the relations between the two countries. CPS, a recognized leader in high-end solutions, has already won over several Moroccan clients, including banks, public and private institutions, as well as research centers.
