Israel to Streamline Visa Process for Moroccan Visitors, Boosting Tourism Ties

Morocco’s decision to grant fast electronic visas to nationals of 49 countries, including Israel, is prompting the Jewish state to embark on the same dynamic. Means to ease the visa application procedure for Moroccan nationals are being examined.

On the sidelines of the visit to Rabat of the renowned Israeli chef Shaul Ben-Aderet, David Govrin, from the Israeli Liaison Office, stated in a statement to the Le360 website that his country is examining ways to ease the visa application procedure for Moroccan nationals. This in order to promote bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in tourism. The Israeli diplomat also says he is pleased to "see tens of thousands of Israeli tourists visit Morocco" since the establishment of direct flights between Israel and the kingdom.

In April, David Govrin had announced in a post on his Twitter account that "an agreement has been signed between the State of Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco regarding the exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports". "The agreement came into force at the end of last month," he added.
