Morocco Launches eVisa System to Streamline Tourist Entry

As of July 10, 2022, the procedure for issuing the electronic visa "eVisa" via the acces-maroc.ma platform becomes operational. This is the solution found by the government to facilitate the issuance of visas to foreign nationals subject to this formality.
In a press release published on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad stated that the electronic visa is valid for 180 days and allows access to Moroccan territory for a stay of up to 30 days maximum. It is also part of the approach undertaken by Morocco at the national and international level to digitize the public administration.
As for the persons concerned by this electronic visa, they are nationals of the countries, the list of which is defined by the competent Moroccan authorities (Thailand and Israel as a first step). Also concerned are foreign nationals holding a valid residence or stay permit of at least 180 days on the date of application for the electronic visa and residing in one of the countries of the European Union, the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Norway, New Zealand and Switzerland.
The list also includes foreign nationals holding one of the non-electronic visas of the Schengen countries, the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and New Zealand, with multiple entries and valid for at least 90 days on the date of application for the electronic visa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifies.
Online applications submitted by the persons concerned, via acces-maroc.ma, must bear the mention "Tourism" or "Business". They will be processed within 24 hours (Express Visa) and 72 hours (Standard Visa), the same source said.
