Israel to Open Commercial Mission in Morocco as Trade Ties Strengthen

The evolution of trade relations between Rabat and Tel Aviv and the enthusiasm of investors are prompting Israel to soon open a commercial mission in Morocco.

Trade relations between Morocco and Israel have a bright future ahead. During a webinar titled "Opportunities in the Israeli Market", organized by the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX), in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), on January 10, 2023, with the participation of the Israeli Liaison Office in Morocco, the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, it was announced that Israel plans to open a commercial mission in Morocco this year.

At the origin of this ambition, the evolution of trade relations between Rabat and Tel Aviv and the enthusiasm of investors. Speaking during the webinar, Zeev Lavie, vice president of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC), assured of Israel’s commitment to developing bilateral trade relations, thanks to investments by Moroccans encouraged by the historical, cultural and economic ties between the two countries. He also highlighted the many advantages his country offers to Moroccan investors.

"The Israeli market is one of the most performing markets in the Middle East, and which, since the two years following the bilateral agreement for the establishment of relations between the two nations, continues to attract investors," said Hassan Sentissi, president of ASMEX, adding that this virtual meeting will be followed by a B2B mission to Tel Aviv from February 27 to March 1, in order to allow Israeli customers and operators to meet and forge win-win partnerships.
