Israel's New Foreign Minister to Attend Abraham Accords Summit in Morocco

The summit of the signatory countries of the Abraham Accords to be held in March could see the participation of Eli Cohen, the new Israeli Foreign Minister.

In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eli Cohen, who has just succeeded Yair Lapid at the head of the new government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, declared that the summit bringing together the countries that have drawn closer to Israel would be organized in Morocco. But before the Morocco stage, the Foreign Ministers of the various signatory countries of the Abraham Accords should meet in Abu Dhabi next week.

Eli Cohen stated that the extension of the accords to other countries is not a question of "if" but of "when", and that "Israel’s ties with its current partners have generated $2.85 billion in trade in 2022 and a significant contribution to regional security and stability".
