Israel Allocates $200 Million to Insure Exports to Morocco

An Israeli government insurance company has released a significant sum of money for its exporters to Morocco. An allocation that will allow them to be insured.
Ashra, the Israeli government company that insures against the risks of foreign trade, announced that it has "allocated $200 million for exporters to Morocco, $100 million for exporters to Bahrain," reports the Israeli economic site Globes. This insurance aims to protect Israeli exporters from the insolvency of clients in case of financial difficulties or political uncertainties.
According to the insurance company’s explanations, the coverage concerns long-term agreements and projects up to 15 years. "In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the volume of Israeli exports has decreased and we are now looking to expand our export activities and penetrate new markets," said Nessim Ben Eli, executive director of the insurance company. According to him, the normalization agreements with Bahrain and Morocco allow for greater expansion of Israeli companies in Africa and Asia.
