Islamic Month of Sha’ban Begins Sunday, Ramadan Expected Mid-March

The first day of the month of Chaâbane of the year 1445 of the Hegira corresponds to Sunday, February 11, 2024, the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs announced on Saturday.
In a statement, the ministry said it had observed the crescent moon of the month of Chaâbane this Saturday, Rajab 29, 1445 of the Hegira, corresponding to February 10, 2024, after sunset, specifying that "the appearance of the crescent moon has been confirmed." The 1st of Chaâbane will correspond to Sunday, February 11, 2024, it adds.
Less than 30 days separate Moroccans from the month of Ramadan. This year, Ramadan should begin on March 11 or 12 in Morocco. Astronomical calculations are betting on Monday, March 11, 2024.
