ISIS-Linked Suspects Arrested in Casablanca Police Officer Murder Case

Suspected of being behind the murder of a police officer in Casablanca, three individuals affiliated with ISIS were arrested on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
The investigation opened following the murder of a police officer during the exercise of his duties in the Errahma district of Casablanca has borne fruit. The judicial police services of Casablanca, in close coordination with the elements of the National Brigade of Judicial Police and the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested three suspects following two simultaneous operations.
The arrest of the two main suspects took place in Casablanca and in the Sidi Hrazem region near Fez. Shortly afterwards, the third suspect was apprehended in the economic capital. These three suspects are said to have pledged allegiance to ISIS and decided to attack the police officer to seize his service weapon with the aim of robbing a bank. They were planning a terrorist act.
