Inwi money, the first and only mobile money subsidiary of Telecom Inwi, has recorded a total of 140,000 customers and 7 million dirhams in transactions, after 4 months of activity.
Launched on September 3, 2019, Inwi money is already showing impressive results. According to the telecom operator, this result was obtained in more than 500 localities in Morocco.
"Throughout 2020, our main challenge will be to develop a viable and high-value mobile money offer that can be adopted by as many of our customers as possible in order to promote financial inclusion for the entire population," said Nicolas Lévi, CEO of Inwi money, to the Map.
This year, the operator intends to create new services and negotiate a strategic partnership with Marjane, in particular through the generalization of payment via Inwi money by the end of January in all Marjane stores in Morocco.
Inwi money also plans to make this new electronic wallet accessible throughout Morocco in 2020. This wish is shared by the experts who participated in the "Digital Act by Inwi" conference cycle, organized on the theme: "Mobile money as a catalyst for financial inclusion" on the sidelines of the launch of the Inwi money mobile money service.
