Orange Launches Mobile Payment Service in Morocco, Expanding Digital Financial Options

The mobile payment solution of the telecom operator will be presented on March 10, 2020 by Yves Gauthier, CEO of Orange Morocco and Nawal Gharmili Sefrioui, CEO of Orange Money Morocco.
Starting next Monday, Orange money, with a capital of 10 million dirhams, will offer payment services, including fund transfers, cash deposits and withdrawals on a payment account, the execution of payment transactions by any means of remote communication as an intermediary.
These services also include the execution of standing or individual direct debit payment card transactions as well as the execution of transfers when they relate to funds placed in a payment account.
In addition, the operator plans to develop the financial and social inclusion of Moroccans through an optimal and autonomous digital experience and its multi-service diversification strategy and its continuous innovation approach.
By obtaining its approval on August 12 last year, Orange Money Morocco thus becomes the 19th payment subsidiary, knowing that Orange Money has started its activity in Africa, particularly in Côte d’Ivoire since 2008. In the MENA region, the revenue generated by Orange Money in 2019 reached 425 million euros, up 27% compared to 2019.
