Huawei Eyes Morocco as 5G Launch Pad for African Expansion

The Chinese company Huawei intends to launch 5G in Morocco. In this regard, it has expressed its willingness to work with its partners in the telecommunications field.
Philippe Wang, Huawei’s Executive Vice President for North Africa, told members of a Moroccan delegation visiting a Huawei service center that his company wants to use Morocco as a base to develop high technology on the African continent.
"We are a major partner in the digital transformation with all partners in Morocco," Wang said. He said he is ready to work with the group’s telecommunications partners such as "Inwi", "Maroc Telecom" and "Orange" to launch 5G in Morocco.
Wang also said that Huawei will cooperate with several other partners, including the National Railway Office (ONCF). The Chinese company already provides the necessary communication technologies for the high-speed rail (LGV) services, via the GSM-R network.
