Interpol Fugitive from Switzerland Arrested at Moroccan Airport

A French national has just been arrested at Marrakech airport as he was about to board a plane. The man was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Switzerland against him.
He defrauded the holding company for which he worked in Switzerland (he was in charge of its management), and was convicted in absentia by the Swiss courts, according to a statement from the DGSN. The red notice issued by Interpol was requested by the Swiss judicial authorities.
And it bore fruit. This 58-year-old French national was just arrested, this Saturday, at Marrakech-Menara international airport. He was about to board a plane for France, more precisely for a flight to Bordeaux. But his next destination will most likely be Switzerland.
The Frenchman was placed in custody at the disposal of the competent prosecutor’s office and his extradition is on the agenda. According to the DGSN statement: "This arrest is part of the DGSN’s efforts to strengthen international security cooperation mechanisms".
