Injury-Hit Morocco Face Angola and Mauritania Without Key Players

The Moroccan national team will play against Angola on Friday, March 22, before facing Mauritania on Tuesday, March 26 at the Grand Stade d’Agadir during the next international break. However, the selection will have to do without some good players.
Several players will miss the Atlas Lions’ next gatherings in March. Substituted due to injury in the 33rd minute of play during Bayern Munich’s match against Bochum as part of the 22nd matchday of the Bundesliga, Noussair Mazraoui will be absent from the pitch for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. The German club’s management has confirmed that the medical examinations revealed a muscle fiber tear in the left thigh of the Moroccan international.
Atlas Lions coach Walid Regragui will not be able to count on Galatasaray star Hakim Ziyech and Sofiane Boufal of Al-Rayyan SC. The two players are still suffering from injuries sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Ivory Coast 2023). Absent from the pitch for four weeks, Ziyech should only return to collective training two weeks before the start of the gathering on March 16.
Ismael Saibari, a player for the Dutch PSV Eindhoven, will also not participate in the next gatherings. He was forced to leave his PSV Eidhoven teammates in the middle of the match on Tuesday, during the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Borussia Dortmund after sustaining an injury in the 83rd minute. The 23-year-old midfielder is expected to undergo medical examinations to determine the nature of his injury and the period of his absence.
