Influencer Couple Arrested for Scamming Family with Fake Healing Promises

An influencer and her husband were arrested last weekend in Had Belfaa, in the Agadir region, for extorting a large sum of money from a family, in addition to livestock and household furniture.
This family, whose son suffered from mental disorders, had handed over more than 70,000 dirhams to a couple they had met with a charlatan, reports the newspaper Assabah. The latter claimed to be a healer and able to cure their child.
By giving them his phone number, the mother of the family was unaware that she was dealing with scammers, who forced one of her children to provide them with a detailed description of the home and property. Information that the couple used to convince the parents of their supernatural power and continue to harass them.
The family had been stripped of their money, livestock and furniture. Only part of the property could be returned following the complaint filed with the Royal Gendarmerie.
