Imam Among Suspects in Spain-Morocco Anti-Terror Raid, Police Say

One of the suspects arrested last Tuesday by the Spanish police, in collaboration with the Central Office of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), in Melilla and Nador, is an imam.
According to the local newspaper El Faro de Melilla, the imam was one of the officials of the "Al-Salam" mosque in Melilla. He is said to have even played a key role in the activities of this terrorist cell. Among the arrested suspects, there were also two women whose role within the group was the production of jihadist speeches broadcast on social networks, in order to rally other people to their cause.
The searches carried out in Nador as well as in Melilla made it possible to seize computer equipment, mobile phones, SIM cards, a computer and digital media, already submitted to the necessary digital expertise. This security operation carried out by the Moroccan and Spanish security services is the result of a cooperation that has intensified since the resumption of relations between the two countries.
