Illegal Olive Oil Operation Busted in Marrakech, Two Arrested
A clandestine factory producing adulterated olive oil was dismantled this week in the 9th district of Marrakech, near the Issil wadi. Two individuals suspected of being involved in this fraud were arrested.
According to consistent sources, the clandestine factory was producing adulterated olive oil by mixing table oil with suspicious chemical substances. This oil was then packaged and intended to be sold on local markets at a price of 70 dirhams per liter.
Two individuals were arrested during the operation. They are suspected of being involved in the production and marketing of this adulterated oil. The Marrakech prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation to determine the extent of the network and identify all those responsible.
