Illegal Fry Operation Busted: Tons of Potatoes Treated with Sulfuric Acid Seized Near Mohammédia

6 tons of potatoes, 250 kg of fries and 15kg of sulfuric acid were seized by the control services of the National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA), in a clandestine fries production workshop, in a locality near Mohammédia.
Following information from the Royal Gendarmerie, the owner of the clandestine workshop was arrested and taken into custody. Indeed, this man used sulfuric acid to preserve the color of the spoiled potatoes used in the production of the fries. These, prohibited for consumption, were resold to restaurants in the locality.
He is also accused of not having any authorization to carry out his activity, specifies the same source.
The defendant will be presented shortly before the Prosecutor, before appearing before the court.
