Palestinian Arrested in Morocco for Alleged Bitcoin Fundraising Linked to Terrorism

A Palestinian national, residing in the city of Mohammedia, was apprehended by the services of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), for his alleged involvement in the trafficking of Bitcoins, for the benefit of terrorist organizations.
The general alert, launched by the Ministry of the Interior, is starting to bear fruit. As part of the anti-terrorist fight led by the security services in Morocco, the BCIJ succeeded in arresting, on June 27, a Palestinian citizen, residing in Mohammedia, on the charge of "collecting public financial donations without authorization".
The defendant was placed in pre-trial detention before being brought before the court to answer these charges. With extensive experience in the field of cryptocurrency, the accused had developed a large network of clients around the world.
The investigation was able to identify several transactions carried out by the suspect, internationally, on numerous virtual platforms. He is suspected of having woven a wide network of clientele, whose ramifications have terrorist implications in several countries.
