Housing Minister Aids Blind Elderly Woman Living in Slum, Sparks Social Media Praise

The Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and Territorial Development, Nezha Bouchareb, is behind a commendable gesture, warmly welcomed by Internet users.
By closely following the case of an old blind woman, widely discussed on social networks, the minister was deeply touched by her precarious situation. Videos posted online showed the state of the hovel where she lived alone, without any assistance.
More commonly known as "Mi Rqia", the septuagenarian had neither children nor family, and often depended on neighbors to help her and tidy up her home, located in a slum in hay Ennahda in Temara.
While paying her annual rent and renovating her premises entirely, Nezha Bouchareb promised to cover the rent for life and reserve her a pilgrimage to Mecca. The minister did not stop there. She also provided her with a woman to assist her on a daily basis.
