Hospital Drug Theft Suspect Arrested in Azrou, Morocco

Although he had a criminal record, a 23-year-old individual was arrested by the Judicial Police Brigade in the city of Azrou. The person is suspected of being the main person responsible for the theft of drugs and tablets from one of the offices of the city’s multi-disciplinary hospital.
End of the road for a drug thief in Azrou. It all started with a notice from the administration of the multi-disciplinary hospital in the city, indicating the disappearance, under unknown circumstances, of boxes of drugs containing tablets used in the treatment of mental and neurological diseases.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), a thorough investigation led to the arrest of the main suspect who was under the influence of drugs and in possession of two boxes of stolen drugs.
Furthermore, other investigations carried out as part of this case made it possible to recover a large part of the stolen drugs, which are currently being analyzed, in coordination with the competent medical authorities, the statement said. It adds that a second individual suspected of having participated in these criminal acts has also been arrested.
The same source indicates that the accused have been taken into custody, at the disposal of the investigation led under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to elucidate the ins and outs of this case and arrest all the suspects.
