Holiday Catering Crisis: Unsafe Meat and Expired Food Threaten Consumers

According to the National Association for Consumer Protection, the sector is experiencing a form of anarchy and a lack of a sense of responsibility. The use of meat from clandestine slaughter, spoiled chickens without control, as well as expired fish, means that some parties turn into tragedies.
The lack of a strict legal and regulatory framework explains the lack of rigor in the sector. According to the Association, several operators working in the catering profession do not meet the standards recommended by the profession.
Following numerous complaints received from victims of caterers, the Association is calling on the authorities to impose a system of authorizations for the practice of the profession and to grant them only to people who have received training in the field.
