Hijab-Wearing Model Halima Aden Returns to Fashion, Graces Vogue Arabia Cover in Morocco

Halima Aden, the first veiled Afro-American model, is making a comeback on the fashion scene. Recently, she posed for Vogue Arabia magazine in Chefchaouen, in northern Morocco.
Halima Aden made four covers for the May 2022 issue of Vogue Arabia for her return to the forefront. In this issue, the first veiled Afro-American model looks back on her experience as a refugee, her 2020 announcement to leave the fashion industry, her childhood in the Kakuma camp in Kenya and her reintegration into the world of fashion, reports Bella Naija. She appears divine in the images taken in Chefchaouen, Morocco.
On the first cover, Halima is dazzling in a ruffled and bell-sleeved Chanel knit dress paired with a black hijab, a turtleneck bodysuit and dangling blue earrings. On the next cover, she adopts an all-blue monochrome look. On the third cover, Halima wears a white sweater and skirt, complemented by a hijab and pumps. She was sublime in the sculptural Stéphane Rolland dress for the fourth cover.
In 2020, Halima had announced her decision to quit modeling on her Instagram account. The one who had imposed herself with her hijab on magazine covers and on fashion runways across the United States and Europe had posted a series of images of her participation in several fashion shows, regretting the moments when she had lost her identity, missed prayer time, where she was covered in jeans as a headpiece.
