Hervé Renard Poised to Take Helm of French Women’s National Soccer Team

After an exceptional World Cup with Saudi Arabia, Hervé Renard is about to bid farewell. A member of the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation, Jean-Michel Aulas revealed on Monday on RMC that he is in a good position to become the new coach of the Bleues. The contact with Hervé is a very positive contact and we have the chance to play the World Cup in five months," reports Ouest France.

He should play the next two matches of the Saudi selection against Venezuela and Bolivia on March 24 and 28 before leaving his post. Hervé Renard is however linked to the Saudi club until 2027 and the fact of having beaten Argentina at the World Cup has made him a man adored in the sports world. The French technician’s new contract with Saudi Arabia includes a clause allowing him to leave if he has a new offer, but against a financial compensation of 5 million euros.

Does the French Football Federation have the capacity to pay this amount, which is equivalent to more than a year’s salary? Some media have reported that Renard is in full negotiation with the Saudis to be exempted from paying this amount.
