Hervé Renard Names Hakim Ziyech in Top African XI, Praises World Cup Performance

Hervé Renard, former coach of Morocco, Zambia, Angola and Ivory Coast teams, includes Hakim Ziyech and three other Moroccan internationals in his starting eleven of African players he has coached since the beginning of his career.
In the podcast "Afrique Football Club" of the sports newspaper L’Équipe, Hervé Renard has composed his eleven of African players he has coached since the beginning of his career. He placed four Moroccans in his virtual lineup. Among them, Hakim Ziyech, who shone during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. "If he has the level of the 2022 World Cup, he is an exceptional player," commented the French coach. He still holds in his heart the one with whom he was in conflict during his time on the bench of the Atlas Lions.
Hervé Renard led the Moroccan national team from 2016 to 2019. He guided the team throughout the 2018 World Cup and two Africa Cup of Nations. Previously, the French coach was assistant to Ghana (2007-2008), before leading Zambia (2008-2010 and then 2011-2013), Angola (2010-2011), Ivory Coast (2014-2015). Today, he is the coach of the Saudi Arabia team.
