Hertha Berlin’s Moroccan Midfielder Hospitalized After Violent Assault in German Capital

Moroccan midfielder Aymen Barkok of Hertha Berlin was the victim of an assault in a restaurant in the German capital. Hospitalized, he will be away from the pitch for an unspecified duration.
The incident occurred on the night of Saturday to Sunday last. While he was in a restaurant in Berlin, Germany, Aymen Barkok was attacked by several individuals and suffered blows and injuries to the face. Admitted to one of the hospitals in the German capital, he was successfully operated on. This assault will keep him away from the pitch for an undetermined period.
"Our midfielder has already been successfully operated on Sunday, but he will not be available to us for the moment," his club Hertha Berlin said in a statement.
According to the German club, an investigation is underway to elucidate this assault. In the meantime, it wishes the Atlas Lion a speedy recovery. "The facts were recorded by the police during the night. We wish Aymen a good and quick recovery and hope that he will soon be able to find his way back to the pitch," Hertha Berlin added.
