Helicopter Drug Trafficking Attempt Foiled Near Tangier, Suspect Arrested

Elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of the Fahs Anjra brigade, on the outskirts of the city of Tangier, are conducting an investigation to elucidate the circumstances of an operation to traffic quantities of cannabis by helicopter in the region. A suspect - a truck driver - has already been arrested.
It all started with the detection by a Navy radar of a helicopter taking off from the Ksar Sghir region towards the European shore. Investigations then began. These revealed that it was transporting about 30 bales of drugs. The investigators examined the surveillance cameras in the take-off area to identify the people involved in this illegal air operation.
On Saturday afternoon, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie arrested a truck driver at his home in the Branes region, in the center of Tangier, as part of the ongoing investigation. He would have been at the scene of the operation. Several vehicles that participated in the drug transport would have come from the Melloussa region. They would have used rural roads to avoid police checkpoints on the main roads.
The investigators also followed the trajectory of the helicopter after it left Moroccan airspace. The aircraft is said to have landed in Portugal. Is this a case of drug trafficking by air to Europe?
