Moroccan National Arrested at Ceuta Border with 45 Kilos of Cannabis in SUV

Customs and national police services assigned to the border separating Morocco from Ceuta have foiled an attempt to traffic cannabis at the Bab Sebta crossing point. This joint operation resulted in the arrest of a Moroccan residing in the Netherlands and the seizure of nearly 45 kilos of cannabis hidden in the SUV he was driving.
It all started with a thorough inspection of a suspicious tourist car around one o’clock in the morning at Bab Sebta. Customs and national police services discovered nearly 45 kilos of cannabis hidden in the front and rear sides, as well as in the lower part of a Mercedes GL320. They immediately arrested the driver of the vehicle - a Moroccan residing in the Netherlands - and then transferred him to the police station to answer for a drug trafficking offense. The MRE was trying to cross the border into Ceuta with the "merchandise."
An investigation has been opened by the agents to identify possible accomplices in this attempted cannabis trafficking. They are also seeking to clarify the location where the cannabis and cargo were hidden, as well as the people who facilitated this passage.
