Heading to Morocco, MREs will be better protected from heat at Almería port

Almería port is planning a total of 7,525 square meters of shade to facilitate the transit of vacationers. This project, valued at 141,830 euros according to the newspaper Ideal, includes the installation of nine tents and one khaïma. The Port Authority’s objective is to improve waiting conditions for motorists before their embarkation.

Most of these facilities are concentrated in the pre-embarkation zone. This central space will host the two largest structures of the system. These two giant tents will cover areas of 3,400 and 2,400 square meters respectively to shelter vehicles.

Other smaller installations will complete this network. A khaïma of 25 square meters will be reserved for the Red Cross, while other tents will be distributed near the Civil Guard, the maritime station, P1 control and gate 4. The port is also keeping two tents of 525 square meters in reserve to handle any unforeseen circumstances.

Assembly of these shelters will begin on June 15. Most of the tents will remain in place until September 1 to cover the peak traffic period. The installation near the Civil Guard will be extended until November 15, while emergency structures will only be deployed if necessary.
