New Guide Outlines Permitted Goods at Ceuta-Morocco Border Crossing

The Ministry of Health and the Tax Agency (AEAT) have drawn up a guide to specify the goods that can cross the Tarajal border from Morocco, as well as the authorized quantities and the prohibited products.
According to the document, almost all categories of products from Morocco are allowed to cross the border of Ceuta. In particular, cosmetics and medicines for strictly personal use are admitted. It is recommended to "have a prescription or medical report" for medicines, reports Ceuta al dia.

Similarly, tobacco and alcoholic beverages can enter Ceuta, but in well-defined quantities, i.e. a maximum of one carton of tobacco, 200 cigarettes and one liter of alcohol (over 22 degrees) or two liters if the degree is lower. As for fruits and vegetables, they cannot exceed 10 kilos. Plants and aromatic herbs, spices and infusions, condiments, food supplements, on the other hand, cannot exceed 2 kilos.
For oils and pickles, a maximum of 5 kilos is allowed, provided they are transported in a sealed and labeled container. Meat and derived products such as sausages, fresh or canned fish and shellfish, as well as any product derived from eggs, milk and its derivatives, except yogurt, cheese, butter, etc., are also allowed.

The Ceuta authorities do not want the return of smuggling at the Tarajal border. That is why they insist that multiple entries into Ceuta with authorized products are prohibited. Furthermore, the transport of protected animal or plant species or livestock of any kind (except by express agreement due to Eid al-Adha) is prohibited.
Domestic animals such as dogs or cats are, however, allowed, but they must have an electronic chip and be up to date with their anti-rabies vaccination. As for sums of money, a maximum of 10,000 euros can be transported, in any form (currency, banknotes or checks).
