Midair Drama: Pregnant Passenger’s Emergency Forces Barcelona-Morocco Flight to Land, Baby Born at Malaga Airport

A flight from Barcelona to Essaouira, Morocco, had to make an emergency landing at Malaga airport due to a medical emergency.
The crew of the flight requested an emergency landing at Malaga airport after a pregnant passenger needed urgent medical care. "We provided them with a continuous descent and a direct approach to the runway with priority (separating the traffic) while the medical care on the ground was coordinated with the airport," the air traffic controllers explained in a post on X.
After this forced stopover that only lasted 20 minutes, the plane continued on to its final destination in Morocco, but without the passenger who was taken care of and gave birth. The air traffic controllers wished "a speedy recovery to the mother and baby."
