Groundbreaking Arthroscopic Knee Surgery Performed in Morocco’s Rhamna Province

A successful arthroscopic surgical procedure was performed on Wednesday, August 12 in Rhamna on the knee of a 49-year-old patient.
In a statement to La MAP, the provincial delegate of health in Rehamna, Kamal El Yansli, indicated that this arthroscopic operation is the first of its kind in the provincial hospitals of the Marrakech-Safi region. It was a specialty of the University Hospital Centers (CHU) of the Kingdom, he specifies.
According to Dr. Tarik El Massaoudi, the operation, which lasted about an hour, was a complete success thanks to the efforts made by a medical team led by the orthopedic specialist, Dr. Tarik El Massaoudi. In addition, this surgical intervention was carried out in strict compliance with the barrier gestures decreed by the health authorities to counter the coronavirus.
According to the provincial delegate, this surgical operation testifies to the constant concern of the Ministry of Health and the healthcare staff to ensure the continuity of medical services for the benefit of citizens despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
