Goodbye Athletics Track: Marrakech Stadium Project Accelerates to Boost Capacity

The National Agency for Public Equipment (ANEP) has officially launched a massive call for tenders for the restructuring of the Grand Stadium of Marrakech. This vast modernization project aims primarily to bring the infrastructure up to FIFA’s demanding standards.

With a budget envelope estimated at over 883.2 million dirhams, this first major work package will span an execution period of fifteen months. The project will encompass both structural work and all finishing touches, including coverings, carpentry and painting. At the heart of this architectural transformation lies the permanent removal of the athletics track, a major modification that will significantly increase the stadium’s hosting capacity.
