A giant supermarket near Tetouan

Located right next to the IKEA store, the construction site of the future U Hypermarket is progressing at a steady pace and should be delivered by the end of June. The opening of the jewel is scheduled for this summer. With an area of 6,500 m², this large commercial space aims to meet the growing needs of consumers and create jobs in the Tetouan region. The project is expected to generate 350 direct jobs, according to Challenge.

The construction of this U Hypermarket has been entrusted to the company Interface Logistics SARL. Its design is a masterpiece of the architectural firm of Mohammed Salim Hsein. As for the technical supervision of the site, it is ensured by Tanger Med. Quality control and topography have been entrusted respectively to SOCOTEC and Topo Azur. The U Hypermarket should benefit from its proximity to the IKEA store, thus helping to make Cabo Negro a reference commercial destination in northern Morocco.

In Morocco, Coopérative U is franchised by Aziz Regragui and Amar Doron. Driven by Africa Retail Market, the French brand whose presence is concentrated on the Casablanca-Rabat axis, aims to open about twenty supermarkets in the kingdom by 2030. Present in Morocco since 2019, the retail giant, which holds 11% of market share in France, is positioning itself as a major competitor to the four major players who already dominate the Moroccan market.
