Fugitive’s Extravagant Wedding Sparks Outrage: Moroccan City Flooded with Cash, Guns, and Celebrities
A lavish wedding, recently celebrated in the city of Segangan, in the province of Nador, has sparked a lively controversy in the region and on social media.
Many Moroccan and Algerian artists such as Dounia Batma, Adil El Miloudi, Fayçal Sghir, Badr Sultan, Kader Japonais, Najat Aatabou, Ould Aïcha, Zina Daoudia, animated this wedding celebrated with great pomp. The ceremony was enhanced by unprecedented shows during which rifles, 4x4 vehicles and fireworks were used. In videos posted on social media, we see "showers" of banknotes falling on the artists, particularly Dounia Batma.
The organizer of the wedding is said to be a local personality, under several arrest warrants. This grandiose wedding, open to the public, was celebrated in his absence, leaving free rein to comments. Luxury cars with foreign license plates roamed the city on the occasion, an unusual "spectacle" for a wedding in the kingdom. According to the photos and videos shared on the web, the party resembled a scene from the Turkish series "Valley of the Wolves".
