Fuel Prices in Morocco Surge Again: Fifth Hike This Year

It is thus a question, according to telquel.ma, of an increase of about 17 cents for diesel and 22 cents for gasoline, bringing the price of unleaded premium to 11.52 dirhams and that of diesel to around 10 dirhams per liter.
As the same source writes, this is the fifth increase since the beginning of the year, recalling that the High Commission for Planning (HCP) had reported for the month of March a 5.2% increase in prices compared to the month of February.
An increase that impacts the wallets of motorists but good tax revenues for the State since revenues in the first quarter increased by 16.3% "thanks to the domestic consumption tax (TIC) on energy products". In total, they amounted to some 3.7 billion dirhams.
