The FRMF confirms Walid Regragui and unveils the March program
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation put an end to the speculation this Wednesday by unveiling the program of the Atlas Lions for the March break. With two friendly matches scheduled against Ecuador and Paraguay, the organization implicitly renews its confidence in coach Walid Regragui for the 2026 World Cup.
This announcement sounds like a response to the rumors of reshuffling that were shaking the national football. By validating a preparation schedule led by the current technical staff, the FRMF is playing the card of stability and continuity. Far from the behind-the-scenes noise evoking a transition phase post-CAN, the institution confirms that Walid Regragui remains the sole master on board to lead the North American campaign.
The program is now set: the Lions will first face Ecuador on Friday, March 27 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium in Madrid (9:15 pm), before taking on Paraguay on Tuesday, March 31 at the Bollaert-Delelis stadium in Lens (8:00 pm). These two confrontations against South American opponents will serve as a dress rehearsal before the World Cup scheduled for June in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
This strategic choice aims above all to bring calm around the selection. By formalizing these deadlines, the Federation seeks to close the chapter of the controversies to allow the group to focus exclusively on the field and the preparation of future international events.
