French Transport Giant Transdev to Acquire 49% Stake in Moroccan Bus Company

The French transport giant, Transdev, is about to buy nearly half (49%) of the shares of the Moroccan subsidiary of the Compagnie du transport au Maroc (CTM), Issal Madina. An operation that will revolutionize the transport sector in Morocco.
Transdev Holding Maroc SA, a subsidiary of the French transport giant Transdev, is preparing to acquire 49% of the capital of Issal Madina, reports Le Matin, specifying that the operation was the subject of a protocol of agreement signed on November 27 last and was notified to the Competition Council. "This participation will be finalized once the regulatory authorizations have been obtained, thus underlining Transdev’s willingness to be significantly involved in the transport landscape in Morocco," adds the daily.
Prior to the signing of this protocol, the Council of the Achamal Al Gharbi Intermunicipal Cooperation Establishment (ECI Achamal Al Gharbi) approved on November 23 the public service delegation contract for urban bus transport under the ECI, which was signed between the ECI and Issal Madina SA on November 24, 2023. The duration of this public service delegation contract is one year renewable, effective from November 27, 2023. Only the municipalities under the ECI Achamal Al Gharbi are concerned.
