Tétouan Residents Frustrated by Unreliable Bus Service Despite New Management

The residents of Tétouan and its surroundings continue to denounce the poor quality of urban transport services, despite the change in the structure in charge of managing the sector.
With its fleet of buses in poor condition, the Isaal Madina company, which has been in charge of managing urban transport in Tétouan for nearly a year, is far from meeting the expectations of the residents. The company’s buses regularly break down, which negatively impacts the quality of transport and harms passengers who reach their destination with a lot of delay.
Users of Tétouan’s urban buses had hoped for an improvement in the situation after the change of company, but they are faced with the same difficulties. They express their anger at this situation and call on the competent authorities to find a quick solution to this situation that affects their daily lives.
According to some sources, the selected company does not have much experience in managing urban transport, which explains the chaos observed in the sector. "The company in charge of managing urban transport does not have much experience, which has been reflected in its services that do not satisfy the residents of Tétouan," confirmed an association official to Achkayn.
The latter believes that "the buses used by the company are not suitable for the nature of the narrow streets of Tétouan" and that "it would have been better to use minibuses". The association activist also deplored the dilapidated state of the buses, which do not have windows, becoming mobile ovens during the summer and threatening the safety of the residents of Tétouan, exposed to the risk of fire.
