French Soccer Coach Hervé Renard Files Complaint After Second Sextortion Attempt

The former coach of the Atlas Lions, Hervé Renard, has just filed a complaint with the judicial authorities in Rabat, after being the victim of a new sextortion attempt. An investigation has been opened to identify the perpetrators of this scam.
Two young people from Oued-Zem had managed, two years ago, to extort money from Hervé Renard by posing as a young girl on the Internet. This time as well, "anonymous persons have opened communication channels with the former national coach, making him believe that it was a young girl fan of the Atlas Lions and their former coach," reports the daily Al Akhbar.
The former national coach would have been taken in and the conversations between the two parties would have evolved to slip into compromising scenes. It was at this point that some young people would have contacted Renard to reveal that he had been duped, before moving on to the stage of harassment and blackmail.
The scammers threatened Hervé Renard with publishing online audio recordings of their conversations if he did not send them the requested amount. The two young people "would be the ones who had already trapped the former national coach in 2021," suspects the same source, adding that the cybercrime brigade investigators are already working to identify the perpetrators of this new scam.
