French School Principal in Morocco Faces Sexual Harassment Complaint Amid Student Protests

The principal of the Victor Hugo high school is now the subject of a complaint filed by the father of a student with the Marrakech prosecutor’s office. Previously, he had been suspended from his duties by the French authorities.
While the embassy had decided to wait for the conclusions of an internal investigation and relieve the principal of his duties in order to put an end to the student demonstrations, the father of a high school student decided to bring the case to justice. According to Al Akhbar, he accuses the principal of sexual harassment against his daughter.
Although the principal continues to deny the charges against him, no less than six students have accused the principal of sexual harassment, without providing solid evidence, writes Al Akhbar.
It should be recalled that the French embassy, in an attempt to calm the student demonstrations, especially during this exam period, suspended the principal from his duties. A commission has been tasked with conducting internal investigations, in collaboration with the parents’ association, in order to shed light on this case.
