French School Principal in Marrakech Suspended Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations

The principal of Victor Hugo French High School is accused of harassment and sexual abuse of students and teachers within the institution. Despite his total denial of the allegations, he has been suspended from his duties pending the end of the investigation.
A former student of Victor Hugo High School has sent a message to the parents of students, drawing attention to the seriousness of the principal’s acts of harassment, and creating a controversy within the establishment.
She asks that the silence be broken on the principal’s excesses and that he be held accountable for his actions. The Cultural Council of the French Embassy has reacted to this message by scheduling a meeting this Friday, May 17 with students, representatives of parent associations and teachers in order to clarify and try to find a solution to this scandal.
"I say no to inaction, no to silence, no to half-measures. I refuse to remain silent and tolerate these unacceptable acts and gestures," the student wrote in her message, adding that "because the majority have experienced the same fate, we have a voice and we count. Justice must be done. We can no longer resign ourselves to silence and let this person escape as if nothing had happened."
Pending the meeting planned between the Agency for French Education Abroad AEFE, the students and the parents, the principal has been suspended from his duties, knowing that the students held a two-day strike in support of the author of the message.
