Wednesday 6 May 2020, by Sylvanus

By decision of the public prosecutor, Michel S., this Frenchman who savagely massacred the sheep of a shepherd at the David beach near Bouznika, was placed, on Tuesday, May 5, in pre-trial detention in the prison of Benslimane.

Michel S. is paying the price for his misconduct. In a video shared on Facebook, we see the Frenchman crushing the sheep of a shepherd who was on land that would belong to him. After massacring the animals, he had threatened to kill the young shepherd, Aymane, aged 14. The scene took place on Saturday, May 1, at David beach, near Mohammedia.

What happened next? The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Mansouria arrested Michel S. and placed him in custody. On Tuesday, the public prosecutor heard him for two hours before deciding to place him in pre-trial detention. The Frenchman is being prosecuted for animal slaughter and death threats, reports Le360.

According to the explanations of the lawyer, Youssef Gharib, who is defending the family of the young shepherd, this act constitutes a violation of Article 106 of the Penal Code which punishes ill-treatment of animals, as well as other articles of law that sanction acts of violence in the presence of minors.
