French Driver Faces Trial for Deadly Sheep Rampage in Morocco

The trial of the French national, accused of having massacred the sheep of a young shepherd in Mansouria, near Mohammedia, has been postponed to May 11.
Placed in pre-trial detention after his inhuman act, Michel S. will have to wait until May 11 to find out his fate.
The latter was the subject of an immediate appearance on Tuesday, May 5, before the court of first instance of Benslimane (the chief town of the province to which the locality of Mansouria administratively belongs). The pleadings will begin next Monday.
According to Me Youssef Gharib, lawyer for the family of the plaintiff party (the owners of the animals massacred under the wheels of the vehicle driven by Michel S.), the defendant is being prosecuted under the articles of the penal code that punish ill-treatment of animals.
Angry at the shepherd and his sheep who were on land belonging to him, Michel S. rammed the herd with his car on Tuesday, May 2, killing some of the animals, before making death threats against a 14-year-old shepherd, Aymane.
